I live in the Clyde Valley, an area known as the ‘Fruit Basket of Scotland’ with a rare microclimate and orchard heritage dating back 900years; the area caught my imagination from the moment I arrived!
Wild flowers and big skies
Most of my artwork prior to moving here has been focused around my love of our built heritage (www.drawingthestreet.co.uk) but these old orchards are a significant part of the local history and even more important in view of climate change and sustainability.
The purpose of this blog is to share some insights into my days as a working artist living in this beautiful part of Scotland. It’s a big step for me to take such a different direction with my artwork but I hope you will see how living here it’s impossible not to want to paint it somehow.
