Invitation to Elements art exhibition, Edinburgh
This Thursday, a group of ten artists* will hang their work up in the Dovecot Studios, Edinburgh. This marks the end of our year of Professional Development at Paintbox School of Art, Cockenzie. It’s been an intensive year of creativity and learning – all working at a fair lick under the guidance of course tutor Jemma Derbyshire. Jemma is astonishing – her teaching skills and her zest for art and life is unequalled! Have a look at their website Paintbox School of Art for some tasty art courses in a glorious location right next to the sea.
My body of work on display is from our third and final term on the course. The title is ‘Wild Orchard – A Mosaic Habitat’ and can be seen here on my website under ‘Gallery – Recent Works’. A big ‘Thank you’ to Tom of Well Made Websites for his support and help in completely overhauling my website. I’m delighted with how it looks.
The exhibition opens this Thursday 29th June 6-8pm, with a drinks reception, musicians and lots of friendly artists to welcome you. Then open Friday 30th June and Sat 1July 10-5, and last day on Sunday 2nd July 10-4pm. It would be great to see some of you there! It’s a short walk from Waverley Station, in the old town: Dovecot Studios, Infirmary Street, Edinburgh, EH1 1LT.
*These are the other nine artists : Eleanor Cunningham, Winifred Hodge, Cathy Wagstaff, Emily Ingrey-Counter, Kim Somerville, Janette Sumner, Lorna Balmer, Margaret Findlay and Gail Cadogan. Please do check out these inspirational women – they are all on Instagram.
Thanks for reading, Ronnie 🙂
