Drawing and painting from a wild Scottish orchard
Inspiration
The Clyde Valley is known as the ‘Fruit Basket of Scotland’. With its rare microclimate and orchard heritage reaching back over 900 years, this area caught my imagination from the moment I arrived five summers ago.
Orchards are known for their mosaic habitats, rich in biodiversity. To an artist, that is a never-ending source of subject matter, in constant shifts of colour, form, texture and light from the leanest of winter days to the eruption of green in summer.
To live here in this place is an extraordinary privilege and it is my delight to share this experience through my art.

‘Talk to Me’ A Chatty Arty Night!
I’m back up north again after a wonderful trip to the ‘Meet the Artist’ event and talk at the Caversham Picture Framer, in Caversham, just north of Reading. I received such a warm welcome and met some lovely art-enthusiasts. The Caversham is a really friendly and inviting gallery which shows gorgeous art by some super-talented local artists.
Talk to Me
‘Talk to Me’ is the name of my new exhibition which opens at the Caversham Picture Framer on Wednesday 1st October 2025. This is so exciting! The work has been unfolding since early Spring and I’m really looking forward to seeing it all together. I will be travelling down from Scotland for a special event with music, a glass of wine and cheese, to be held in the gallery on Sat 18th October. This starts at 5.30pm and I’ll be giving a short talk at 6.30 about how this body of work was created
Step into SPRING
There’s a new exhibition opened up in the Tolbooth, Lanark. ‘Spring’ is a group exhibition of some of the work by a few of the many talented artists working here in the Clyde Valley.
